I have already done that, but as you can see, you can only select slug on the screen options in the portfolios, there is no excerpt option to enable there. I have been able to use custom excerpts on portfolio posts with other websites and templates, therefore, I know this can be done, but the template needs to allow to select the excerpt box in the portfolio section.
